"Queen Victoria", or "Victoria", is a heritage rhubarb, first grown in 1837.  Named after the rhubarb-loving British Queen Victoria, it is easy to grow, never tough, and has HUGE greenish stalks.  It tastes just the same as the red varieties, and is in fact often juicier and more tender.  Its popularity waned as varieties with redder stalks came into cultivation.  It thrives all spring and summer with little attention before retreating underground for winter and then bursting forth again in the spring.  Requires a cold winter, and a dormant period to grow well.
